Games minimise to desktop, need help!!

During the playing of any full screen game, if anything happens on my desktop, for example if i get disconnected from the net and the connection dialog pops up to try and reconnect then my game minimises and i have to restore the window to get back into it!

Also On a few games (Not all) if i dont move the mouse or press a key for more than 30 seconds, the game minimises also...

Even if i close down ALL background programs the problem still occurs

Has anyone else experienced this problem, does anyone have any suggestions?

AMD64 FX-53
GeForce 6800 Ultra
2gig PC2600 DDR
All drivers are up to date, i have no spyware or virusses
WindowsXP home
