    Hello,
I have Halo and UT2K4 installed on my computer and these work fine. I installed Call of Duty but after set up the single player refused to open. The multiplayer loads and plays just fine, but the single player begins to load and then takes me back to my desktop with no new window opening. Since then I have tried installing the demos FarCry and FEAR but I have the same problem: I click on the icon, it begins to load, blanks out, and takes me back to my desktop.
I have tried restarting, and reinstalling.
    Please help.

    Thanks.

    What are your system specs?
I.e. Motherboard, CPU, GFX card, version of Windows?
Have you installed drivers for your motherboard? If not, try that.

I am running Windows XP SP2 on an IBM T41 with Pentium M processor, 1600 MHz, 512 RAM, Radeon 7500. I have installed the latest drivers from IBM.

It could be your Radeon 7500 holding you back and can't process the games. Hate to say it but have a look at the specs of your card it would be struggling with some of these Demos, especially FEAR.

Specs I quickly found on google: (64MB, AGP 4X)

Hate to say it but your CPU is another limiting factor my PC1 would only play FEAR with average output quality and I had to tweak and OC my card.

Hate to say it but if you want to really play these games you will need a complete system upgrade!

Look I don't want to rub salt in but you should have a look at this article and it will explain it for you but importantly provide info in case you do want to upgrade and what you will need:

I'm frustrated as I bought this system (PC1 below) last August and already I can't play some of the latest games with out having poor/average quality.

Thanks for your replies. I should proberly start investing in a new computer if I ever want to run those games.
