Building a new gaming rig, and was wanting to know if the Vista Beta was any good for gaming, or would it just slow it down?

If not I'll just install xp.

    Thanks for any help here

XP driver support is far more mature.

I vote XP, till Vista is RTM, and driver support is a little more solid.

    No Vista

    Yes XP

Give Microsoft a little bit to work out the bugs in vista. Late 2007 or 2008 and it should be pretty stable.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'll stick to XP for now.

If only Linux had the game support that Windows does! Then I'd definately make the switch, over to Ubuntu and never look back.

I've played a few games on vista. No problems (besides dungeon lords, but then, xp had issues with it). But, yes, I'd wait a wee bit of time.

I do remember xp gaming versus 2k or 98 gaming. Back then, NO ONE prefered xp gaming. How the time has changed. :)
