if someone can point me in the right direction??

On the subject of homepage hijack nuisances, why can i not get rid of this bastard page. I have used hijackThis and removed the offending agents, i have removed them from my registry, however, this does not seem to be the remedy since they originate at the browser. My IE browser resets to this page after it is closed and reopened; there is some startup file/trigger that inserts the offending page,,,,where in Gods green earth is it.....is this a .dll file causing the headache or what. I cannot submit a log because i have deleted/vanquished everything.

whats the simple answer, i know it is an easy fix, but alas, i do not know where the needle is in this haystack......its been hijacked?!!!!! gall-dang-it.....eternally grateful....adios

repost your hijack this log, and also, what's in your startup folder... also, did you go to Internet Options > Program > Reset Web Settings

Midget, I've got to butt in here. I had (or have) SPAD. Yes, I reset web settings. Now i have no internet access. Outlook express is ok. I'm running in safe mode right now. That,s how I got here. I figured this may be relevant to this post.

Sibeer, if you still have a problem try taking a look at this thread: http://www.majorgeeks.com/vb/showthread.php?t=33673&highlight=spad

If you still have problems afterwards, start you own thread with your problems. Don't forget to run Ad-aware & SpyBot S&D first and tell us you have.

My homepage continually goes back to the same page, I can set the page at "Internet Options" and it will open correctly but upon the next browser opening it defaults back to the "bastard page". It is not in my startup, it cannot be vanquished by the "reset options", it cannot be gotten rid of through the cleansing of my registry via "hijackthis". My main page, start page, searchURL, all are triggered by something that has established this bastard default page that I cannot get rid of. I need to know where this is emanating from and it must be Internet Explorer because when you open the browser it makes the change and does not require a "off/on" or reboot of the box.

    what maddness

    Schuss,

I'm going to repeat myself one more time. Please try to follow the directions.

We need more and better information then you have conveyed. Need info on your system too. Read this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/vb/announcement.php?f=33

Also, have you run both Ad-aware and SpyBot S&D (see this link http://www.majorgeeks.com/vb/showthread.php?t=26149).
After that post a HiJaak This log with more complete information on what is happening. Just saying "some page", "offending agents" , etc tells us nothing.
