Genuine Advantage message

    I have a legal copy of XP Pro SP2 installed for several years ,I have the disc and legit number in front of me.Yesterday at boot the nag message of you may have an illegal copy appeared with the black screen.This is obviously an error on Microsofts Genuine Advantage tool .How can I get this corrected or is it a format and reload of XP Pro
