    Hey guys,

I am trying to upgrade Ram on Gigabyte GA-K8VM800m motherboard.

I currently have 1 stick of 512mb DDR 333 PC2700 which works fine, but I have purchased 2 x 1 gig of 1gb DDR 400 Pc3200 and can't seem to get it to work.

I have updated the BIOS, and loaded the "fail-safe defaults".

When I install both new sticks and try to boot, all I get is a blank black screen.
If I leave the 512mb DDR 333 and put 1 stick of DDR 400 it will half boot but fall short of loading WIndows. I realize crossing the 2 different speeds of ram might be an issue.

How do I get the motherboard to recognise the DDR 400mhz Ram?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

Does it work with one of the new sticks?

Did you change the bios setting from 333 to 400 Mgz?
