Gmail help! Receiving replies in inbox.

I have Gmail and any time I reply to an email, I get a copy of it in my inbox. Its so frustrating, how do i fix this issue?? It happens if I do it from my PC or smartphone. Help!

 

Do you access your gmail account via web browser or an email client/program (Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.)? If you use an email client, is your gmail account configured as POP or IMAP? Have you created any "Labels" in your gmail account? Has this been happening ever since you created your gmail account or did it start later? If later, did you make certain changes to your gmail settings just before this started?

 

Yes, I access my gmail account through outlook express and is configured as an IMAP. Same with my gmail app on my smartphone. I have not added any lables or done anything. there are so many folders too! I just want a normal mail account with my inbox, sent drafts, and deleted items.This has started from the day i got gmail.

 

As this is affecting both your computer and phone it has to be a setting on the server. Viewing Gmail in your browser check in Settings > General > Default Reply Behaviour that you haven't selected Reply All.

 

Hi, ok, so I checked the settings in my Gmail, and it is selected to reply, not reply all. So now what? thats not the problem then.

 

I also just realized that Im only getting the copies of my replies in my inbox only on my smartphone. Not in my outlook express on my computer. So it must be a setting I have to change somewhere on my phone. I have the samsung galaxy 4. I looked in my settings in my gmail phone app, and I dont have the reply all checked. So thats also not an issue with the phone.
