Gmail & Outlook/Outlook Express

A co-worker was on a service call recently, and was berated by the client because he didn't know how to merge the PST file from an established Outlook account (it was not originally set up with a Gmail account) into a newly created Gmail account. To top this off, the Outlook account was barfing up the error "the PST file is too large" and it couldn't be accessed via regular means. Is it even possible to take everything from an established (and somewhat messed up) Outlook email account and move it all in to a new Gmail account?

Secondly, he didn't know off-the-top-of-his-head the POP/SMTP settings and port numbers (if needed) to get Outlook to work with a Gmail address. He started to look up this info online, and the client again berated him for being uninformed, and that he was "learning on the job at her expense". All this nastiness from the client aside, what are the POP/SMTP and port settings for Gmail in Outlook or Outlook Express?

Thanks! I'll pass this info along (as well as study it myself) to my co-worker. I'm a huge ANTI-Outlook/OE supporter as I find them cumbersome, problematic, and generally just not user friendly, and I personally avoid all contact with either Outlook or Outlook Express as much as possible, but since I do work in the IT field, I'm forced to be somewhat familiar with these email clients regardless of how much I personally hate 'em.

 

May as well add <gasp> Windows Mail - what a PITA when it breaks...
