Going Server - have questions

I know that this is BIG topic with lots of varibles but wondering if anyone of great skill can assist me here....?

Our company is finally going to get a server and apart from what type of hardware setup we should go with we are having a software delimma.

Has anyone heard of Highpoint P+DMS? Wondering how good it is? What types of files it can handle? Will it really work with our manufacturing based company?

Also, been getting conflicting comments regarding MS Small Business Server 2008 software.

So I would really like to connect with someone willing to help guild me through some of the questions I have on this topic.
