Im looking to upgrade my mobo and cpu pretty soon, if my other computer doesnt get fixed, and i need some suggestions. Im goin for an Opteron 146 which is a great overclocker and I need a good board to allow for a maximum overclock. Ive been told numerous times that DFI is the best for overclocking but I just bought a new PSU and dont want to upgrade it AGAIN until i go SLI. Does anyone have experience overclocking with ASUS or any other brands?

Yeah, I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, Badass motherboard. It has a lot of overclocking options... I currently have my 4200+ OC'd @ 4615MHz. It's really simple and really stable. I've yet to run into ANY problems. And nice choice of processor, those opterons can overclock like crazy. I would highly recommend ASUS over DFI, but this is only personal opinion, I simply think that the ASUS boards are easier to overclock, and from my experience: Slightly more stable

No experience with DFI, but I have had two ASUS boards and found them very easy to overclock and stable as well. Current board is a P4P800 socket 478, and I haven't had any trouble with it at all.
