On my XP Home SP2 system and the computer in my sig, Google Talk will often be using 50% CPU without me even realising.
I'm sure it would use 100% if I didn't have hyper-threading, which only lets it use 50%. :)

Also, it likes to hang up my conversations for me at random.

I think it sucks, not as good as what I was expecting when I installed it.

Let me make my question clear, has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have it, but I don't experience the problem you are having.

However, it's only in Beta, so it may have a lot of bugs.

    What is your ISP?

Or I should say, what kind of internet connection do you have? Dial-up/DSL/Cable/other?

I have 2mbps ADSL internet from BT (British Telecom).

It shouldn't make a difference to CPU usage. My mother uses it on 28.8 dial-up with no issues!

As I said, it's only Beta.

You could try emailing Google support, but in my experience, they rarely answer or are very selective.
