theres no bosses in the game, and the second part of the game so far seems almost impossible to do anything at all on my own.

I've been playing this game for a while now. Its true the main part is almost impossible to play on your own, which is why its so EASY to join groups of others to play with. The main missions are designed to be played with others, a single player can't possibly get through them alone, and most of the quests are pretty tough solo aswell, although you allways have to option of joining with henchmen. There are bosses, but not like bosses you would find in other games of this sort. A boss is a random badguy who is slighly bigger and much stronger than the norm and glows a special colour depending on his class. Once killed you can get a special 'elite' skill from most bosses and in the new update 'Sorrow's Furnace' there are special items that only come from certain bosses and are very rare.
This game is probably not as good as World of Warcraft, although i've never played it, but Guildwars has much better graphihcs and is FREE to play after you buy the game unlike most other games of this sort including WOW which requires a monthly fee. If you only play as a solo character then you will miss out on one of the main aspects of the game which is PvP(player vs player) and GvG(Guild vs Guild) where you fight against oter guilds or teams of people to earn points for yourself or your guild and clime the leage tables.
I know its not everyone's cup of tea, and I didn't like it when I first started because I didn't like asking to join other people, but once this inital insecurity wore off I found it to be one of the best online games i've played!
Don't be put off by initial impressions, this game gets much better as your character develops and you make friends to play with!

I think Jawa Slayer nailed it right on the head. I fully agree with everything he said.

Personally I like it. I am really comfortable with the game play and have played through the game (through biggest boss) twice with two toally different styles of characters, and am currently going through again as a Blood Necro.

Guild Wars is a great game!

I think its the best RPG game out there right now. If you join a good guild and get some good characters the game is alot of fun. Plus its always being updated so things are always changing.

yeah i just started.. only lvl ten.. i just bought more ram for my laptop so i can run it better... i do have a feeling im going to get way more into it.. so .. i have a ranger/mesmer combo right now.. mainly using markmansship and domination...

i know its a team game.. hense the name.. but every time i team up.. i just fly through the missions...but hoepfully it gets harder , and i once i get that memory upgrade i wont be so reluctant to roam around more cause it wont be choppy at all...

how long has the game been out?
are they planning on allowing you to get higher than lvl 20?
are there sets of armor and weapons?

Trust me, it does. Plus you get the great time of people leaving the group mid mission much more in the later missions. (People tend to leave when they think they should be leader and people don't do what they say...)
Beta testing ended in the Spring. Game was released in May i think...
There has been talk on this subject. But no one is really sure yet. They discussed changing that in one of the expansions, but no real confirmation (that I know of) yet.
Sets of Armour, yes. Weapons Sets, No. There are much better weapons later on in the game. Obviously. The sets actually stay about the same with the vendors (same name but higher Def as the game moves on) so you will see the same armour for most of the game. In the last 3rd of the game or so, you will be able to buy your "end game" which is the highest Def armour. And if you get really rich, there is a set that costs 15k per piece. Same def as the other "end game" but it just looks better (supposedly... some I think look foolish). But good weapons become a fairly decent Trading tool. The trade in this game is almost a world of it's own. Much happens, and there are fluctuating markets and such all over. If you like that kinda thing, it's fun. Personally, I just like the gameplay.

so i have alot to look forwrd to in this game then? ...

once you reach lvl 20 .. how much is there to do... i keep hearing about collectors?
how much more do they plan on adding to this game, sooner or later everyone will be lvl 20..where as in WOW (which i never played, just spent hours watching my friend at college waste away his life) lvl 60 takes so long and not as many people get there. plus they got a horse at lvl 20, in GW you get maxed out .lol

Collectors will trade you weapons, armor, and off-hand items for a certain # of other items (e.g. massive jawbones, etc.). They just put in a major addition, Sorrow's Furnace, last Wednesday that you can start to play once you get to Droknar's Forge. As for things to do once you reach lvl20: there's still quite a bit of game left past the Crystal Desert, you have Sorrow's Furnace, PvP, farming, GvG battles, etc. ;)

I actually played my last GW last night. I beat the game with 3 characters and have been playing for over 3 months. I ran around giving all of my inventory and gold to people. I'm not into PvP so that kinda killed anything left in the game for me to do.

Guild Wars is primarily a PVP game, and it has some of the best competitive gameplay of any games out there. The PVE elements are good, but they arn't the game's main focus.

The level cap is 20 and will msot likely not be moved because it keeps a level playing feild. The main concept that Guild Wars was built on is that you should win for skill, and not time played, with a level cap at 20, it forces you to use skill to win a battle rather than grinding for a year. This is something I think most people will find apealing, it's what drew me into the game in the first place.
