Half Life 2 Problem

    Hi

    When my freind starts half life 2 he gets the folllowing the error

    AppName: hl2.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: filesystem_steam.dll
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000e67f

    I have heard to change the filesystem_steam.dll in the hl2 bin folder fixes this but unfortunatly this didnt work. Just wondered if you guys had any ideas.

    Please close this topic as we have worked it out. (in case someone else has this prob) We renamed the hl2 folder to "OLD" (I dont think it matters what it is called tbh) and steam updated the folder back to hl2 and it works fine. I have no idea why this worked but my idea was to "damage" the folder so steam had to repair it.
