hi, having hard drive problems here

origionaly had 2 hard drives. removed 1 which was 5GB, replaced with 80GB.

this was not the 1 with windows (98) on it.

but when i try to partition to using seagate software i get 'verifying DMI pool data' which it stops on.

any ideas on how to get past that ?

easiest first step as you have been changing hardware is to clear CMOS, after that enter the BIOS and check that the drives are being listed.

to clear CMOS look in your MOBO manual for a jumper or just take the battery out for a minute then put back.

you will if you have changed/tweaked settings in the Bios will have to change them again as the settings after a clear revert to default.
