does 16MB cache improves performance by a lot for desktop mutli-tasking?
does it make files copying from one drive to another drive a lot faster?
does it helps to bootup vista faster?
what kind of performance gain can i expect from a hardisk with 16MB cache?
anyone can answer my questions?thanks a lot.

    hi.

the main thing is to get a SATA drive if your motherboard is compatible. it's worth going for 16mb cache if there isn't a large price difference. different speed drives will transfer data at the speed of the slower drive. as for Vista booting/running faster unless you've got 2gb ram forget it! although having said that you can use a compatible usb memory stick to hurry things along a bit. i use my phone's unbranded 2gb memory card in a usb card reader and it definitely helps.
