I am building a new PC and have the motherboard, processor, harddrive and a temporary video card (AGP) installed, just to see that it recognizes and runs fine with everything. However, when I plug it in and turn on the power, no video comes up on the screen. Everything's plugged in, the fans are on, even the video card's fan, but nothing's showing. Also, as a side note, I was wondering if it would boot into Ubuntu without any RAM cards in it the motherboard, as I haven't bought any yet, but the harddrive has Ubuntu installed on it already.
I'm guessing it won't boot but I was hoping at least to get into the BIOS... but nothing's coming up on the screen.

    You need some memory installed

Basic parts to even start a computer are...

    Motherboard
    Processor
    Ram
    Video Card
    Power Supply

You are missing the memory which is the 3rd most crucial part of a PC.

As soon as you install the memory it should work as long as everything is configured properly.
