Hauppauge wintv hvr 1250 tuner card

    Hi everyone. I would like to ask can you use the Hauppauge WinTv HVR 1250 tuner card without the Hauppauge PVR 500 dual tv tuner card. I have been trying to setup the media center with the latter card, but it will not work. Is there a way round it. I brought the card thinking that it would work to view the cable channels, but it doesn't. Any suggestions. maryhigginsrice.
