Hello to everyone, this is my first post. But I hope to become a regular here and learn more about computers. I have an old Compaq computer with Windows 98. I have Spybot, Ad-Aware SE, Bazooka, and the new Yahoo Anti-Spy. I try to keep my computer clean. As you can see, I like freeware.

My problem. I am in a band. Being the classic starving musician, I built my own basic website on FreeWebs.com. Whenever I run Spybot, it shows CoolWWWSearch as a spy. When I click on details, it shows my website as the problem. I went to FreeWebs and read their user agreement. It says the site is tracked, but doesn't say by whom. The first time I used Spybot to clean this spy, it deleted my website from Favorites. It also listed FreeWebs as a site I could not view under Internet Options. I had to manually change this.

My question. Does FreeWebs use CoolWWWSearch to track? Is there anyway to seperate the two? I don't want visitors to my site to get this spy. I have read CoolWWWSearch is pretty bad. I have not had any problems with my computer, it usually runs pretty well, no browser hijacks or anything like that.

Any help is appreciated. Keep it simple. I am not that knowledgeable.

    Thanks in advance.

freewebs.com is one of the sites that is added to your Restricted Zones by Spybot and or SpywareBlaster. I'm not exactly sure of the reason, but it is likely due to the fact (as you state) CWS related. I would bet that they also put a bunch of spy/ad ware on your PC too.
