After getting a virus on our computer, my husband inadvertantly hit F10, upon startup, and now it looks like the computer has been set back to factory settings. It is a Compaq Presario. Have I lost all my files? Is there anything I can do to get them back? I had some of my pictures backed up, but not all of them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

What version of Windows? XP? Vista? Win7?

Can you see any "leftovers" by using the 'view hidden files' options? These options can be accessed simply, but it's different for different versions of Windows.....

I have Windows XP. When I check the box for "view hidden files", I still cannot see my pictures anywhere. I do still have some programs on my computer that were not initially installed on the computer, such as Turbo Tax, Photo Programs, etc. It seems like they wouldn't be on there either, if it erased my documents. Any other suggestions?
