    Hi All,
I am having a major problem that I HOPE someone might be able to help me with... I just uninstalled Norton AV and installed AntiVir Personal Edition. (It is the most popular DL in the Anti-Virus section of Major Geeks.) I am having problems configuring it to do what I want it to do, as I cannot understand the instructions. The "Guard" is in place in my right hand toolbar and is activated. The definitions are up to date and I have the "Luke Filewalker" running. However, how do I configure this program to scan email? I have combed the help file and cannot find anything about it. I use Outlook Express... Does AntiVir have an email scanning attachment?

Also, how do I get the scheduling date to read the correct date instead of June 15??? (I have inserted a picture... I hope it's not too small. My monitor is a large one. If anyone wants, I can enlarge the pic.)

    Thanks,
    Gina

    Another strange thing...

AntiVir already found a worm in one file (COOL!) that NAV Pro 2003 did not (Hmmm....) but I had to delete the file because AntiVir will not repair or quarantine inside a zip file. (I got a pop-up message notifying me that the file was infected, so I used CyberScrub to completely erase it.) No big deal, the file was not an important one, but is the program telling me to "unpack" or "unzip" the Nero file so it can scan it?? (Picture below)

    Confused Again,
    Gina

    WHEW!!!

Ok... I'm FINALLY reading (in AntiVir Personal Edition's Help manual) about the command lines, the paths, directories, etc. I am assuming that I must set these command lines up myself (for the email scanning, the quarantine file path, etc.) This is not an easy thing to do with a German based software, given my lack of knowledge of the German language...:p

I am thinking that perhaps I may be somewhat brain-dead, given the fact that uninstalling Norton (which I did, BTW, because it uses SO many resources) took a few HOURS deleting all those registry keys manually! I will probably leave this until I wake up (it's 6:30AM here & I haven't been to bed yet!) If anyone has successfully set this program up to scan Outlook Express email, please let me steal your settings?? ;)

I would like to hear from anyone who uses this program successfully. My next choice will be AVG, and I HOPE it has an email scanner!

Free AVG does have an email scanner, as does Avast free.
