hey all. ive been having some problems in the last day. i did a full system virus + spyware scan on trendmicro (housecall) and it found a adware and spyware which were bothdeleted. otherwise, my system was clean.

i have been playing the game Battlefield 2 for a while now, and never had any problems. i have the latest video drivers (ati) but recently some textures in the game have been messed up (pixelized) and i have had a LOT of crashing with many different programs. (one time a fatal windows error, and on restart, it said one of my registries had to be backed up).. also, sometimes my computer feels laggy, as it does a mini-lockup every 5 seconds or so, but only freezes for like half a second

also, last night i was redircted to a webpage that automatically downloaded an AIM buddy list for me. i used the aim virus cleaner, nothing was picked up, and i decided to come here with a hijack this log. any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thank you!

    wxbug.exe, help!

so i did a bunch of virus scans, and the bitdefender scan detected the wxbug.exe file in my Program Files/Aim/Sysfiles folder

i went to the symantec webpage and deleted the files involved and the folder created by it, all manually. i also manually (and carefully) checked the registry for any entries that were said to be created by the virus (according to symantec) and i found none, and figured that bitdefender deleted them. i restarted my computer, and when i went to play a game, my computer kept lagging every 5 seconds, as it was loading something constantly

is it possible that the virus or whatever it is is causing the lag, and that it came back?

    Re: wxbug.exe, help!

Please do not start multiple threads for the same problems. Stay in one thread. I'm merging you back to your original thread.

Also do not post HJT logs unless they are requested. And then they must only be posted as attachments. You must follow standard cleaning procedures in the sticky threads before we will look at logs.

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below exactly as written:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
