I'm making a new computer and need advice, to see if the parts I've chosen will all work together, so please tell me if something is wrong or have any recommendations.
I didn't get a hard drive since I already have one that I'll be using for this.

I'm also running on a budget of roughly $600.
    Thank you,
    Sincerely Danny.

I think this looks good, except for the motherboard.

ECS is not the best choice: Their warranty RMAs and tech support are far worse than average. I used to work at a major retailer (F:***'s) that quit carrying ECS largely due to the failure rates and horrible customer service.

For a few bucks more, a Gigabyte or ASUS board will be money well spent.

    Hope this helps. :)

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Agreed with the G-man about the ECS boards.

Also, don't forget to factor in the cost of the operating system, unless you're planning to run strictly Linux.

Agree with the G man and Caliban.

Also, I always double-treble check with Crucial.com before deciding what RAM to use and where to buy it from (I usually buy from Crucial anyway).

You can also check Newegg's customer reviews for possible memory issues with a specific mobo or go to the mobo mfr's website for an "approved" list of memory makes and models that have been tested with the specific board.

I have nothing to add, other than I got confused looking at the first picture of the RAM. I had never seen a stick of RAM taper on one end like that, or have progressively smaller chips at the far end...

Thumbs Up! :clap I've used the CM Storm Scout; it'll give you great cooling and future room for expansion if needed.

Good luck on your new build. It looks like a winner. :cool

Objects in both the rear view mirror and on your PC's monitor may appear goofier than they actually are. :-D

You will really enjoy the case. I have one and it is really cool(weatherwise) and very nice to look at. Very good , my wife took mine away from me.

Agreed. I didn't pay too much attention to the PSU in my previous post - my bad.

Not to argue with you, but I think I found a better deal on newegg (this is a 72 hour only special @ 79.99 w/ free shipping as of 11/22/2010):

Aside from more reserve wattage, the Antec 750 is 80 PLUS BRONZE certified. The 80 PLUS is basically a geek version of Energy Star. It should cost a few bucks less per year to operate and 80 PLUS PSUs usually run a bit cooler.

Just want to point out that if you're using the same HDD you have now, you're going to want to back up all the data. There's a really good chance the drive won't boot up and you might end up having to reinstall the operating system, plus lose all your data in the process. XP and Vista are not very nice in this respect (and I'm assuming you're running one of those right now). It's theoretically possible to do it, but I would personally never attempt it without backing up the drive first.

Definitely looks like a better PSU deal, but the OP stated he's on a tight budget... so I found the cheapest decent quality PSU. If he's got the money though, your choice is definitely better.:major
