Help me get rid of searchportal.info/10039! I am losing my mind

Hello everyone

I am new to this site and I am desperate. I cannot get rid of the searchportal web site. I ran adaware, spybot, hijack this (many times, index.dat suite. I thought I deleted all the CRAP on both my husbands and my log in accounts, however, once I reboot into normal mode it comes right back! HELP!

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

Judging from what you posted , it looks like you didn't do the whole tutorial. It takes a while, I know, but it will help. I didn't see any of the online scan objects in your log which leads me to believe that you didn't perform them??

 

I have successfully removed the highjacker, however, now my desktop does not have a start icon and I cannot log into my husbands log in account. I followed your instructions verbatim. Help

 

Hey its me again

I just stepped away from the computer and rebooted it. THe hijacker is back. I am going to follow the next list of instructions "if still having problems"
If you could get back to me regarding the desktop page also my computer seems to be loading very slowly. Thank you for all your help. Keep your fingers crossed!

 

Hi Keels,

It is very important that you run through the Cleanup Tutorial for ALL user accounts.

Are you able to get into Safe Mode and access all accounts?
System Restore Off?

Do as much as you can and keep us posted. Somebody will check back when they are able.

I finally deleted (i hope) the highjacker from all user accounts. I can't seem to restore my system. I am back in normal mode, right click on My Computer and properties there is no restore tab. My desktop does not have a start icon, I cannot access my husbands user account, and my computer is acting funny-it's very slow to log on and I can't perform certain functions on the internet. ie I tried to copy a page off this web site and it would not let me.
Please help.

Please attach HijackThis Logs for each account as per these instructions:


Note that your HijackThis should be up-to-date (v1.98.2) and MUST be extracted to its own safe folder – C:\Program Files\HijackThis!

If you need a Fresh Download of HJT, get it HERE: HijackThis 1.98.2

Also note that, before you scan, you MUST close all running programs including your web browser, e-mail and items in the system tray.

Please save your HJT Log as a .txt File and attach it via the "Manage Attachments" tool in the Additional Options section when you post.
