HELP - trojan.byteverify virus!

hello all,

i'm having some problems with my computer, please help me! i ran a norton antivirus scan today and a virus was found on my computer - trojan.byteverify. 8 infected files were found - 3 named counter.class, 3 named parser.class, and 2 named worker.class. norton was unable to repair these files, so i quarantined them. i am unsure what to do from here. is there anyone out there who can help me get rid of this virus for good? thanks,

Are you definitions up to date? Did you try running the scan in safe mode?

unfortunately i cannot connect to the internet to run norton liveupdate - my laptop, which is infected with the virus, connects through a wireless network, and even though the other two computers on the network connect fine (such as the one i am typing this post on!), for some reason, the laptop will not connect. could this have anything to do with the virus?

i will try running the scan in safe mode, thanks.

Download them to another computer on your network and then copy them to the problem computer. You can get them here: Norton Virus Definitions 12/2/04

Use the same logic to get the programs in the READ ME FIRST onto the problem computer.

I don't think that particular trojan blocks internet access, so you may have other issues.
