    To Whom It May Concern,

The other day I downloaded an .exe file and after doing the usual scan for viruses with Panda Internet Security, I ran the file. Rather than doing what it was supposedly meant to do, the file decided to disappear. Soon after, Panda reported that an Unknown Virus had been detected and blocked. I immediately updated definitions and did a full scan, but to no avail.

So I went about my business and over the course of the past several days I found things gradually interfering mroe and more with the operation of my computer. Right now I'm on a computer in a public library because of the sheer slowness of my computer at home.

At first it was just that my usual sites were blocked. I would type google.com and Firefox (Internet Explorere as well) would say that it was 'Done' loading the site, but only greeted me with white space. I would try to login onto gmail.com or any other e-mail site and the same would occur. All sites where I had a password of any kind saved would do it as well.

Later, I noticed that at seemingly random times, whenever an advertisement was on a webpage, a random rap song would come seemingly out of nowhere (I assume coming from the advertisements, even though none of them are animated in any way, because when I hit the back button or close my browser, it stops).

I did a full scan with Ad-Aware and Spybot already, and since its somehow customary to post your HijackThis! log next, I thought I should give it a go.

However, after downloading HijackThis! and doing the usual scan, I found that after the program finished scanning my registry, it would close itself completely unannounced. Even when I tried to click the "Save Log" button quickly, it still closed itself. On the bright side, I've managed to take screen shots and upload them so that I can still show you what I've found (I've had to increase my resolution, so these images are large):

I will try to check back on this page from my home computer in a while. I've run System Restore and found that the only Restore point available was half an hour after I ran the damned .exe file, so I'll try HijackThis! again later on. I'm sure the symptoms won't be as apparent as they were at first. If I can get it done, I'll post that log here, too.

Thanks for any help ahead of time,
    -wand
