Help!Why am i unable to download macromedia flash player?..

I need to download flash player so i can view some websites.However when i go to
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
...and try to download nothing happens,I do not want the yahoo toolbar so i un-tick the box,when i click "install" the page refreshes and thats all.Do i need to change setting on my Pc to enable installation?Or do i have to install with the yahoo toolbar?Any ideas/advice is much appreciated.Also my OS is XP.Thanks.

 

Do you see the little graphic after it installs? If so then it actually installed correctly. Have you tried installing both the Shockwave player and the flash players?

Just wanted to know if downloading flash player and shockwave has any risks?I keep on hearing about something called active x and java.Not sure what these are.Can a knowledgable member shed some light on this.Also still can't dowload these from the sites,do i need to change a setting on my pc?Thanks.
