    Hi-
I'm having some DVD burner issues, and in researching this I have found that there is no version of ATAPI on my system. I downloaded the install package from adaptec and ran it according to their instructions, but after I install and check, I get "System ATAPI is corrupted" along with a warning that wowpost.exe and winaspi.dll are not installed.

I did a little searching at that post, and came across the following article:
    http://aspi.radified.com/
A course of action is listed : "manually copy two files to my \system folder, first renaming the current ones to wowpost_old.exe and winaspi_old.dll, so I could go back if I had any problem" but I don't really understand this too well, and I certainly don't want to mess anything up with windows. If anyone could help me make sense of this,
