When I right click on an icon, file, or folder...it seems to cause some lag. By looking at the Task Manager when right click on a file, explorer.exe starts to use 70 or more CPU cycles. But if I right click on my desktop, or in a blank area, it doesn't seem to cause this problem. Any ideas?

Hm. Off the top of my head, I'd say it has to do with your file structure, or generic windows problems. Or even (unlikely) disk access problems. How long since you've reinstalled? What OS do you use? Is your HDD NTFS or FAT32? Does it do the same thing when you right-click on files that are on a CD or floppy? How long since you defragmented or checked for disk errors? Do you have any spyware running? Run msconfig (or similar) to see what's running on boot. How much RAM do you have? How big is your swapfile?

Could be a number of things.

Geez. It's a confirmed problem in 2003 Server? Maybe they should fix that. :\

I already read that artical snake, thanks anways. I've already unchecked all those options in the Visual Effects settings, all except the shadow under the mouse and menus. I just reinstalled windows yesterday. I am running WinXP with NTFS.

After posting this thread last night, I noticed that it's not just when I right click a file or folder. It happens when I go into menus, for example my browser. Say I click on File menu in my browser, it happens there. It happens in all types of menus like that. I'm fairly confused.
