On my grandpa's computer the voices in all the files are higher pitched than they should be...almost like the chipmunks. Do you know why this is happening at all? It does it with many files. I don't think it could be his crappy speakers cause they give off a nice sound for music.

sorry. The voices are high pitched for any video files I play on that computer. I can play the exact same file on another computer without any problems in sound. I've ended up having to use a different computer in the network to play the files, but it just seems wierd for the voices to be high pitched like that.

Theres an option somewhere that changes the
audio conversion rate for sound i.e 44KHz...22KHz.. and so on.
Could it be this? If not just un-install sound card, and re-install (with lastest drvers) from scratch.

Adey is hitting the right area... try opening the file in any kind of .wav editing program and find out the aspects of the file, such as bitrate, i.e. what adey said... 44KHz, etc. The advice on installing the latest sound drivers for your particular sound card isn't a bad idea either... good advice Adey.
