I have an eight year old Micron Millenium running Windows 98. I have only ever used a dial up internet connection. It is 56K. Would I get any benefit from a high-speed connection, or would I have to buy a new computer in order to see any difference?

You'd see a difference in web browsing and downloading, sure. Browser loading and general slowness wouldn't really change though.
