home networking - laptop to iphone 4

    I am currently serving in afghanistan and have a laptop (vista) with an internet connection (not wireless) and i want to link this with my iphone 4 so that i can use apps like "wassup" to keep in contact with family and friends. Is this possible?

    I've had a play around but seem to be getting nowhere. The laptop has bluetooth which i thought would make it easy. Range is not an issue, just to be able to use the apps would be a godsend.
