How Can I Make The Most Out Of My Dual Core CPU?

    I am running a 2.8Ghz Intel Pentium D 820 after upgrading from an Intel Celeron 2.6Ghz and although I've seen some improvements, I have this feeling that I'm not getting the most out of the new CPU for some reason.

    Are there any tips or tricks which can help me to increase performance on my PC based on the new CPU I have installed?
