Not very techie, but really want to learn, especially if I can save some money. What I've got now (is a big mess):

    1. A 3-yr-old Dell desktop, connected to ethernet via local fixed wireless ISP @ $50/mo (unlimited service, but dismal speeds of 0.73 d/l, 0.12 u/l)
    2. A new Samsung chromebook; new Verizon JetPack HotSpot 4G LTE, $50/mo (6.5 d/l!)
    3. A new Samsung SmartTV, haphazardly connected to the new HotSpot (settings are all wonky & must be tweaked).
    4. DishNetwork service ($80/mo)
    5. AT&T landline ($60/mo)
    6. Most bundled packages are not available way out here in bfe-tx
    9. Use an old-style prepaid flip cell phone ($100/yr)

Theethernet ISP just told me they offer "greater stability" than a HotSpot. (I did lose a HotSpot connection, but this could be a sleep settings issue).

Would like to be able to run it all--Chromebook, SmartTV, desktop--with the HotSpot. Unsure how this would work with data limits. Still well within Best Buy's 2-wk return period, so if there's a better HotSpot service than Verizon, with unlimited data and/or lower cost, please let me know.

Grateful for any advice on how to save money on monthly services; any additional equipt needed (i.e., router?); or even, helpful links.
