    Whats up guys,

I know the title of this thread will seem easy to answer at first (it may still)
but let me explain what I'm hoping to accomplish.

I want to create a bootable USB ISO for a
software program I have called Contact Management Database Software,

I want to be able to access this software on USB and boot right to it from the BIOS.

I have 3 programs Rufus, MagicISO, and IMGburn.

The trouble I'm having is I opened the folder I want to use
    from "C:/programfiles/Contact Management Database Software
and I created an ISO of that folder using Magic or IMGburn.

I then went and tried to make a Bootable USB of that ISO using Rufus
but the ISO is not recognized by Rufus. I get the following error message..

this version of rufus only supports ISO's based on bootmgr, EFI, Grub4DOS, Grub2, or winpe, This ISO doesn't appear to use either.

    any help I'd appreciate, thanks!

You are trying to turn an ISO into a bootable ISO without an OS. That's not possible. How do you expect the program to run? A program cannot boot/run from the BIOS, only an OS can do that.

Thanks for the Reply , but No

What I meant by boot from the BIOS was disable the other HDD and
    boot directly to the USB
and access the software, just like with Dban or hans any other software Ive
ever been able to access using a USB or rom.

Eldon is right. Those are essentially specialized mini operating systems.

alright not possible that's fine, not really a huge deal to me.
however the main issue is making this ISO bootable so It's supported
by rufus etc. so that I can run it on the XP OS.

Cool read Eldon, thanks for the info
that's disappointing but I guess it is what it is.
    :mad

and Joe I am not trying to bypass the OS , I realize it can't be done
I'm talking about after it boots to windows I want to to be able to boot from
the USB essentially anywhere to access my data base.

    This is a contradiction...

If you want to run the program from a USB flash drive, it needs to be portable. I have used Cameyo to create portable applications. You can create a portable app in "Virtual Mode". That means you don't have to install the application to create a portable version of it.

PS It wont work with all applications.

Other options are portable virtualbox, run an os and your program from a USB, or try to make a PE bootdisk and run your software from that.

No it's not a contradiction I'm just over that lol
booting from the BIOS was part of my original question, but we're passed that now
thanks for the link this is exactly what I needed.
