How secure is your password?

    There are website you can go to that will show you the password you typed and will rate how strong it is. I'll see if I can find one, but I recommend anyone interested in security of their passwords to use one.

    Passphrases are much safer than passwords, but make sure you can remember them.
    For example (about a cricketer).

    Adam Gilchrist is the best cricketer in the World in my opinion2007

    Using the first letter of each word it becomes (and easy for me to remember as Ol' Bigears is the best, IMO.):D

    I would have thought that one of the ways to maintain the security of your passwords, is to only type them in where they are required :)

    Yeah, I'm not too keen on giving an unknown site one of my more precious and potentially expensive possesions.

    It's AJAX, I'll see if I can find it. I know there's a lot of plugins for phpBB and vBulletin, etc that will do it on the fly. As you type your password and add characters it gives you a password strength score. You're not submitting the information.

    when you sign up to ebay it gives you a password strength meter as well, have seen it on other sites too
