Hi. I was wondering if there is a way or there is softward that will block certain emails I receive in Outlook Express. When I mean block I'm not saying send the email to my deleted file. I mean is there a way to totally block a sender before the email even gets to my inbox? Thanks. matthew.

    Hi!
    Yes.
In OE's toolbar click Tools>Message Rules>Blocked senders list
Add the sender you want to block..email address will work in Mail Messages

Also I think you can double click on the email when it opens in a new window.
Right click on the sender and say block.

Thats fine for blocking from one sender but if you want to block emails with offensive words or those adverts you don't want then click on tools message rules mail and put in the words that you want block. I have a huge list in my OE top of which is Viagra followed by the F word and so on down the list to Insurance etc etc

not sure if this works for outlook but in yahoo--you can block your bulk mail--which is mostly the spam junk you don't want. not sure what type of emails you want blocked. but, roberts reply is a gr8 one.

You should be able to block a sender(s) through your web based email (eg. at msn.com, bellsouth.net, yahoo.com, etc.,etc) Sign in to your web mail to do it.
Usually under Options and Filters, Spam or Junk mail, etc., you will find a block senders section where you can add email addresses or domains to block.
They won't make it to your Inbox.

Try MailWasher, a Kiwi product, rated very highly, free download.

Didn't work for me with AOL in the olde days, no matter how hard I tried with lots of help from them. May work now with AOL. Bazza

I agree with Bazza. :) I've been using Mailwasher for a couple of years now and think that it works really well. You can set up a friends list as well as a blocked sender list.
