How to enter the "D" partition of hard drive

    Hello everyone helping my friend defrag his comp we did "C" drive fine went to do the "D" partition defrag says cant do it at 12% so I tried to open it and it wont allow me at all any help?
    window xp
    compaq presario
    80 gig hd

    Is D: the Recovery Partition? If it is it doesn't need to be defragged and it is best to leave it alone.
