How to import into Adobe InDesign

    I have a 400 page book written in Word which I need to import into InDesign to get it ready for a publisher. I have been able to transform the book from Word to PDF by means of a PDF printer. I now need to get all 400 pages into InDesign CS6.

    How do I do this? I cannot find any import option in any of the menus.
