How to remove autmatic windows updates

    It's most annoying. I'd prefer not to have it on or remove it all together. I do not want to delete anything because last time I deleted some files that were extremely important. If anyone can get me in the right direction, I'd sincerely appreciate it. Windows home xp. Thanks

    Go to Start>Run>services.msc

    Now find the services "Automatic Updates" and "Background Intelligent Transfer Service", stop them if you have to, then right click on Properties
    and under Startup Type select disabled. That should solve your problems.

    Why stop the updates? Bad idea and just asking for trouble if you ask me sir.
