I have a problem with "iastor.sys" file. I have Windows XP installed. The computer does not start in the Windows. Windows Advanced Mode does not work in any option. I have no Windows XP disc 'cause it broke and I don't wish to purchase it again to fix this problem. I have a Dell Dimension 4700 PC. I have tried going under the Dell System 4770 menu for "Drives", selecting "SATA Operation" and switching from "Normal" to "Combination" option, but it repeats the same problem after reboot.

I have already searched for a driver online related to iastor and have loaded the floppy disk for that, off a BR126083.zip file provided by dell.com. And I get this on the screen:
    "Loading DRMK Version 8.00...

    DRMK Version
    COMMAND.COM Build 25 - Apr 27, 2006
    DRMK KERNEL Build 11 - Jan 11, 2006
Copyright (c) 2006 Dell Inc. All rights reserved.

    ConfMgr 1.08 Copyright (c) 2005, Maxtor Corp.
    Found Maxtor 6Y160M0
    Setting new drive configuration...
    Power management modes disabled.
    A:\>"

I don't know what to do. I want to load and install the driver.

This is where I downloaded the file: http://support.dell.com/support/dow...typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=167510

I don't think that has any drivers on it. Looks like it's either a bios update or a firmware upgrade for the hard drive.
