HP Color Laserjet 2600n printer driver issue

Hello all,

I have an HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer that I am trying to install as a local TCP/IP printer on a three of my HP desktop computers. All of my desktop computers are running Windows XP SP3.

On two of my desktops the printer installs without issue. On the last desktop, it can print a test page, but it cannot print a *.txt file or any other document. I noticed on the test pages, there are some differences, even though I am using the exact same driver file.

On the working test pages:

Driver Name: IMFNT5.DLL
Data file: SDhp2600.SDD
Config file: SDNT5UI.DLL
Help file: SDhp2600.HLP
Driver version: 6.00
Environment: Windows NT x86
Monitor: HP CLJ2600n LM

On the non-working test page:

Driver Name: sdhp2600.dll
Data file: SDhp2600.SDD
Config file: suhp2600.dll
Help file: SDhp2600.chm
Driver version: 0.03
Environment: Windows NT x86

The driver file that I am using is called CLJ2600.INF and it is digitally signed by Intel, created on 6/27/2007 at 8:00am

I did some Google searches and saw that some other users were stating that unchecking the "bi-directional printing" checkbox might resolve the issue; but it does not.

I do not understand why the driver is interpreted one way on one desktop and a different way on another desktop. Any and all information/help would be appreciated. Thank you

I would try updating to the latest driver for XP dated 12 Oct 2011.
