HP laptop mice problem

    I'm running a hp pavilion zt1170.
    After I install windows XP PRO, the driver of the mice didn't let me disable the "tap to click" option. Therefore, I update the driver from the synapsis web. After this, I was able to disable that option; however, most of the time when I start my PC after "stand by," my mice starts conflicting with the system: the trial icon dissapears, and the "tap to click" option enables. Do you have any idea what my be causing the problem?
