HP Pavilion dv9347d notebook video problems

    I am working on a buddies laptop. and it has lines on the screen and if you hook a aux monitor to the laptop it shows the same lines on it. But at some points there seem to be no lines or it changes to blocks. Could it be something software or hardware that would cause this? I am hoping its something other than the built in video....

    Its a HP Pavilion DV9347D Notebook running windows Vista, core 2 duo, 2gig ram. As you see in the photos the lines change and go away also..

    Unless you have actually uninstalled the IGP drivers and re-installed the latest it is very difficult to speculate!

    Frankly it doesn't look good but it could just be a matter of a quick pull down, blowing out the crud and rebuild (not very difficult and 1 screwdriver with a good plan needed).
