Hi I have a Radeon HD2400Pro card and I just got Driver Genius (NOT) It went away and updated the driver and now I keep getting this ATI2dvag error message which says it is stuck in an infinite loop. I went into add/remove software and got rid of the ATI stuff but the ATI Catalyst keeps re-appearing in the bottom task bar and I cannot find a way to de-install it.

Also the new drivers would not give me a 'proper' desk top, all the icons and fonts were much too small and if you changed the settings in Display, a black line appeared down both sides.

I have only just got a new hard drive and installed windows XP on it, so that cannot be the problem. At least I hope not as I have spent the last week putting all my programs on to it.

Anybody know what I can do to get my 'normal' desk top and stop this error message?

    Thanks Jo

    Hi,
    Try this....

    http://majorgeeks.com/Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html

(download it), restart Windows in Safe Mode (press F8 before starting Win). Open the application by double clicking the left mouse button, and check ATi - > Analyze and Clean. Click on Clean one more time, when it's finished restart Windows normally. Delete all ATi Folders from program files, by right clicking on them and select Delete.

Go to Start, left click on it -> Run and type in there : regedit

Then follow this traks and delete all ATi related.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ATI Technologies Inc.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATI Technologies

If you don't know how to uninstal an driver, in the old school way. Right Click on My Computer -> Advanced System Settings -> Hardware -> Device Manager - select Display Adapters -> Right click on Standard VGA G. Adapter and "Uninstall"

Once you have finished here is where you can get the "proper" driver for your card.....

If you are going to use any driver finding software in the future can i suggest you use this .....

I used it last night and it only gave me one false possitive... an older version of a driver that was already installed.
