I cannot switch back to Modern XP skin !

I'm stuck with the classic skin, and i can't select the modern skin again :

Hopefully someone has a solution for this, i really don't wanna reinstall Windows.

Check the settings on:

Right-click on 'My Computer' icon > Properties > Advanced > (under Performance) Settings > Visual Effects.

I selected "adjust for best apearence" and it's not helping...

sounds like your themes services is disabled or not started?

START > RUN > services.msc

On the list scrool and locate the THEMES make sure it is not disabled and also started!

If you right click on desktop > Properties > Themes ... is Windows XP listed, if so click it and apply.

if not a quick fix is to download the Luna theme which you can get from here ( line 187 ~ Restore Luna Theme ) http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Turcoloco, your solution works, thanks. Must be those "tweak" programs that have disabled it. Thanks to Halo anyway.
