I can't view large (27 meg to 470 meg) picture files

Nasa recently uploaded some gigantic detailed pictures onto the internet.

I downloaded the 470 meg png file.
I have tried plenty of programs to open the file, and all of them either give me errors, or just sit there.
Does anyone know a program that can handle that big of a file?

Do you have Photoshop installed? I don't know what errors you getting but sometimes it will cause conflicts with opening/handling certain files, sometimes .JPG and especially .PNG, even if you choose another program.

I would start by uninstalling Photoshop. When you re-install it DO NOT make Photoshop the default program for .JPG and .PNG files, or if you want, any file type other than .PSD.
