I deleted my sound driver on accident! Please help!

I was cleaning up some memory on my computer when I accidently deleted my sound driver? What do I need to do in order to get my sound back?

Sure, here is what is listed under the EVEREST program:

1) Motherboard ID: 63-0100-000001-00101111-042104-iSPGDL_G$BF865001_BIOS DATE: 04/21/04 15:58:22 VER: 08.00.10

2) Motherboard Name: Intel Bay Field D865GBF

If you need more, please just ask.

 

Computer brand and model, for example Dell Dimension 3000 and Operating System.

 

Well, it is a custom built computer, but my OS is Windows XP and the motherboard is made by Intel.

 

Okay, do this then, download AIDA32 - Personal System Information 3.93

After you have completed the download, extract the contents to its on folder named AIDA. Locate the file aida32.exe and run it.

Once program is launched, click on COMPUTER, SUMMARY. Scroll to where it says "Audio Adapter" and let me know exactly what it says.

You can also right click and copy, paste in notepad and attach it here if you like.

It didn't work for some reason...
There is something in the message about Windows Service Pack 2 and a bunch of numbers and symbols.

 

What type of message? Error?

Do you have SP2 installed?

 

Yes, I have it downloaded, but do you think it could have something to do with Firefox? I am going to try and download it from Internet Explorer.

 

Did the file download? At what point did you get a message or error? What did it say exactly?

Alright, I unzipped it again and I got the same message from the last time I unzipped it. It reads:

"An error occurred while unzipping. One or more files were not successfully unzipped. The error code is 110."

 

And yes, I do have Service Pack 2 installed although, I swear it has messed up my computer somehow.

 

Okay, the problem is not the driver its the zip file, do you have WinZip installed?

 

Yes, but I used WINRAR to unzip it. Is that a problem?

 

Try to unzip with WinZip, see if that lets you unzip it.
