    Greetings,

    I am running XP SP2

Today when I booted up my P.C., I recieved the message that WSock32.dll was not found and that I should re-install it.

Basically this means that Firefox, AIM, etc.. do not work. IE 7 is working without a hitch.

I looked online for help, but nothing shows up that relates to my situation. I really do not want to reinstall my OS because then I would spend another 2 hours after that re-installing SP2, etc.

    Please help?

    Thanks,
    Mike

You can go to start / run / type
sfc /scannow and have your xp cd handy ...run it twice.

If it doesn't replace it (which it should) ..you can do a repair install without losing anything ..simple boot to cd ...choose install Not repair) ...f8 to the agreement ...then when it finds the installed operating system ...choose "R" for repair ...let er rip ...

Or download it to another computer and copy to a flash drive and then extract the file to the system 32 folder.
