whenever i try to move a file to my slave local drive i keep getting this prompt

and i heard this problem can occur if something isn't plugged in all the way and i have tried numerious different ide ribbon cables (i'm guessing that is not the problem) and switching the power supply plugs and the power supply itself still didn't work what could be the problem i nee some more space on my main local hard drive

I would recommend running an in-depth diagnostic using the free download from the driver maker's web site... most of the main drive makers have 'em.... you could also try running chkdsk /r on the drive and see if it helps. If none of this does anything, uninstall the drive from the Device Manager and power down. Unplug the power cord from the back of the PC and open the case. Unplug the power and data cables from the drive and power up and boot in to Windows with the drive totally unplugged. Do some general maintenance and update the chipset drivers if new ones are available. Power down and re-connect the drive.... hopefully this will have some effect....
    Good luck!:-D
