    Hi everyone -

I am a peace corps volunteer living in Africa, so virus definitions are hard to come by, but viruses are not. I am trying my best to keep my computer clean, but it looks like I have failed. I am trying to delete a folder with 90 pictures, but am getting an I/O error, and am getting the same error when I connect my ipod to my computer. I just updated my anti-virus and scanned again and found nothing, but what is really odd is that it found 335 files within that folder with only 90 pictures and yet said none of them was a virus. I tried scanning with both Norton's and Malwarebytes but found nothing.

Any help would be super appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Catherine

http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 if you think you have malware on your computer go to this link follow through the procedures to clean your system. Before you do that can you give us an example of the files you have found in that pic. folder, and can you post the error message, it may just be a software issue but more details are needed

I only see pictures in the folder but the error message is: Cannot delete IMG_0514.JPG: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

    Thank you!

Sorry but I am a little confused - I have a file that is on my hard drive which I am trying to erase, not a CD. I am wondering if the issue with the ipod which is also claiming to be an I/O error is not important? I am following the directions as fast as I can to clean the computer but downloading takes a long time here.

Right click on IMG_0514.JPG and select properties. What is mentioned, like size, creation date etc.
There is something you can download (sorry), a free program, called Unlocker.

You can right click the file, see what is using it, unlock everything and get rid of it.
